Fajr announces short films lineup for 2019 edition

Seven Iranian short films have made it to the 37th edition of the Fajr Film Festival.

The seven films selected to take part in the Short Film section of the upcoming event are: ‘Reverans’ by Sogol Rezvani, ‘S’ directed by Hamed Aslani, ‘You are Still Here’ by Katayoun Parmar and Mohammad Rouhbakhsh, as well as Siavash Shahabi's ‘Dissect’.

‘Fault (Gosal)’ by Soheil Amir-Sharifi, ‘Pedovore’ made by Mohammad Kart, and ‘Bitter Sea’ by Fatemeh Ahmadi are also among the selected films.

The festival coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies across Iran, marking the 40th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Since its establishment in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran every year.

This is while, the international version of the Fajr Film Festival will be held in April 2019.

The 37th edition of Fajr Film Festival is set to kick off on January 30, 2019, and will run until February 11 in the capital Tehran.
